Death Toll Rises to 13 in US-Israeli Strike on Iran’s Alborz Bridge

The death toll from a US-Israeli attack on the B1 bridge in Iran's Alborz province has risen to 13, with 95 injured, according to Iran's official IRNA news agency. The strike, which occurred on Thursday, targeted one of the Middle East's tallest bridges during a civilian gathering for Nature Day, a traditional festival marking the end of Nowruz.

Victims included municipal workers, passengers, and families from Bileqan village, as confirmed by provincial officials. Amir-Hossein Daneshkohan, a local authority, stated that 44 civilians have been killed in Alborz province since hostilities began in late February 2026. The conflict escalated after a joint US-Israeli operation on February 28 killed Iran's then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and senior military figures, prompting retaliatory strikes by Tehran.

The B1 bridge in Karaj, hailed as an engineering milestone, suffered damage in two missile waves. Qodratollah Seif, Alborz's deputy governor, emphasized the attack's impact on civilians during a cultural celebration, underscoring rising regional tensions.
