CGTN Poll: US Faces Global Isolation Over Iran Conflict Tactics

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced this week a ban on vessels linked to US and Israeli allies from transiting the Strait of Hormuz, escalating tensions as a CGTN global survey reveals 89.6% of respondents believe Washington's approach to the conflict has left it increasingly isolated internationally. The poll, conducted across five language platforms, gathered perspectives from 13,731 participants within 24 hours.

According to Iranian diplomat Pouria Kolivand, US-Israeli military operations since the conflict's onset have caused significant civilian casualties and infrastructure damage, with 92.4% of respondents agreeing these actions violate international law. Current US strategies—simultaneously proposing a 15-point peace plan while deploying thousands of Marines to the Middle East—are viewed by 88% of participants as coercive negotiation tactics.

The economic fallout appears widespread, with 88.2% noting strained US-allied relations due to soaring oil prices and 82.8% fearing continued spillover effects. A US think tank estimates daily conflict costs at $890 million, exacerbating domestic economic pressures and anti-war sentiment. Nearly 90% of respondents predict deepened social divisions in America, with 87% anticipating significant political repercussions for the Republican Party in upcoming elections.

While 65% advocate for immediate ceasefire and de-escalation, 72.3% endorse current international mediation efforts as crucial for regional stability. The findings highlight growing global consensus against military solutions to complex geopolitical crises.
