London Jewish Ambulances Torched in Antisemitic Arson Attack

Four ambulances operated by Jewish volunteer group Hatzola were destroyed in a suspected antisemitic arson attack in north London on March 23, 2026. The vehicles, parked near a synagogue in Golders Green, exploded due to ignited gas cylinders, shattering windows but causing no injuries. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned the attack as "deeply shocking," while London Mayor Sadiq Khan pledged increased police patrols.

International Militant Group Claims Responsibility

The SITE Intelligence Group reported that the Islamic Movement of the People of the Right Hand, linked to similar attacks in Belgium and the Netherlands, claimed responsibility. Counter-terrorism officers are leading the investigation, though police have not verified the claim's authenticity.

Tensions Rise Amid Community Concerns

The Israeli embassy criticized years of "hate-filled marches" in London, urging decisive action against antisemitism. Security footage shows three hooded suspects approaching the vehicles before the blaze. The incident follows MI5 warnings about Iran-related threats to Jewish sites, which Tehran denies.

Hatzola, founded in 1960s New York to serve Yiddish-speaking communities, works alongside Britain's National Health Service. Dutch prosecutors confirmed the militant group is under investigation for attacks on Jewish sites in Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
