CGTN Poll: US Actions in Iran Accelerate Global Shift, Survey Finds

A recent CGTN global poll reveals overwhelming consensus among respondents that US military strikes on Iran are hastening the decline of American hegemony, with 94.1% linking the escalation to a deepening structural crisis in Washington's Middle East policy. The survey, conducted across five languages and involving 18,906 participants within 24 hours, highlights growing international concern over the conflict's humanitarian and economic repercussions.

Humanitarian Toll and 'State Terrorism' Allegations

UNHCR data indicates nearly 25 million displaced persons in affected regions, while 90.9% of respondents characterize US strikes as a resurgence of "state terrorism." The displacement of 800,000 Lebanese civilians and rising Iranian casualties have prompted the UN to declare a "major humanitarian emergency."

Economic Repercussions and Alliance Strains

With daily war costs reaching $890 million according to US think tank CSIS, 75.2% predict accelerated decline in the US economy. The Strait of Hormuz disruption has triggered global oil price surges and financial market instability. Meanwhile, 88.7% believe US efforts to rally allies for naval escorts are exacerbating NATO divisions.

Global Perceptions of US Leadership

94.6% of respondents agree the conflict reinforces America's image as a "belligerent nation," while 94.4% observe rapid erosion of US global credibility. The poll underscores widespread skepticism about war objectives, with 93.8% questioning the strikes' legitimacy and 89.1% linking them to dollar hegemony and resource competition.
