UAE Asserts Stability Amid Ongoing Iran Conflict, Highlights Defense Readiness

The United Arab Emirates' Foreign Ministry reaffirmed the nation's stability on March 18, 2026, despite sustained missile and drone attacks from Iran since the conflict began on February 28. Over 2,000 projectiles have been intercepted by the UAE's multi-layered air defense systems, described as having 'sufficient strategic stockpiles' for prolonged operations.

Defense and Diplomacy in Focus

Officials emphasized their commitment to protecting all citizens, residents, and visitors while rejecting 'any aggression targeting sovereignty.' President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has engaged in more than 100 diplomatic calls with global leaders this year, while Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan continues crisis consultations with international counterparts.

Economic Resilience Maintained

Non-oil sectors now represent 75% of UAE's GDP, supported by $2.49 trillion in sovereign wealth assets. S&P Global recently reaffirmed the country's AA/A-1+ credit rating, citing stable economic fundamentals despite regional tensions.

The government has pledged continuous monitoring of regional developments to ensure national security and social stability through 2026.
