Iran Denies Supreme Leader’s Medical Visit to Russia Amid Speculation

Iran's Ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, has vehemently denied reports claiming Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is receiving medical treatment in Moscow. The denial follows a Kuwaiti media report alleging the 56-year-old leader was transported to Russia after sustaining injuries in a purported US-Israeli airstrike that killed his father earlier this year.

"This is a new psychological war," Jalali stated in a social media post this week, emphasizing that Iranian leaders "do not need to run and hide" and instead remain "among the people." The Al-Jarida newspaper had reported over the weekend that Russian President Vladimir Putin personally invited Khamenei for treatment, though the Kremlin has declined to comment.

The incident highlights escalating regional tensions and the persistent circulation of unverified claims regarding Iranian leadership. Analysts suggest such reports could reflect attempts to undermine Tehran's political stability amid ongoing geopolitical rivalries.
