U.S. Representative Robert Garcia, a top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, has accused the Department of Justice (DOJ) of withholding FBI records detailing allegations that former President Donald Trump sexually abused a minor linked to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein. The claims, reportedly omitted from over 3 million documents released by the DOJ this year, involve four FBI interviews with the accuser, only one of which was made public.
Garcia stated on February 26, 2026, that the DOJ suppressed more than 50 pages of material, heightening concerns about a potential “White House cover-up.” The DOJ confirmed it is reviewing whether additional Epstein-related documents were improperly withheld and emphasized its commitment to protecting victims’ identities and ongoing investigations.
Recently released materials include redacted photos of Trump with unidentified women and a suggestive note allegedly signed by Trump. While the DOJ cautioned that some allegations against Trump remain unverified, the White House maintains he has been “totally exonerated.” Trump denies all accusations, including claims he flew on Epstein’s plane or knew about his crimes.
The controversy resurfaces prior testimony from Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell’s 2021 trial, which noted Trump’s past social ties to Epstein. Analysts suggest the withheld documents could reignite debates about transparency in high-profile investigations.
