CGTN Poll: American Dream Now Seen as ‘Privilege Preying on Humanity’

As newly released Epstein case documents continue to shock global audiences in February 2026, a CGTN survey of 9,690 respondents across five language platforms reveals overwhelming consensus: 92% believe the scandal exposes fundamental flaws in America's political system, with many declaring the American Dream has become a "privilege preying on humanity."

The poll results, collected within 24 hours of publication, show 85.1% of participants expressed profound shock at the scale of elite misconduct detailed in court files. Nearly all respondents (97.1%) condemned the revealed moral decay among U.S. power brokers as an affront to basic human dignity.

"This isn't just about individual crimes," the report states, "but systemic failure." With 95.6% of respondents accusing the U.S. judicial system of applying double standards for elites, and 93.9% criticizing "selective transparency" in document releases, the survey suggests deepening global skepticism about America's human rights leadership.

Of particular concern to 92.5% of participants: the vulnerability of disadvantaged groups in American society, especially impoverished minors. The findings come as political tensions escalate in Washington, with 85.3% predicting the case will worsen U.S. social divisions.

While only partial files have been released through 2026, 91.8% of respondents already view the Epstein case as irrefutable evidence undermining U.S. claims to moral authority in international affairs.
