In an innovative approach to addressing urban stress, a recently opened 'Rage House' in Diyarbakır has drawn attention as a unconventional solution for anger management. The facility, operational since late December 2025, allows visitors to safely smash objects in controlled environments to release tension.
Founder Hamza Durmaz told KhabarAsia.com the initiative stems from personal experience: "Like many here, I struggled with anger. Smashing items without consequences helped me redirect violent impulses." Local authorities have noted rising stress levels in the southeastern Turkish province, with police reporting 12% fewer public altercations this month compared to December 2025.
The concept, adapted from similar U.S. models, provides protective gear and breakable items ranging from glassware to electronics. Durmaz emphasizes safety protocols: "We channel energy, not chaos. Participants undergo brief counseling sessions afterward."
While some psychologists debate the long-term efficacy of such methods, initial surveys show 78% of users report improved mood regulation. The facility has already attracted interest from urban planners in İzmir and Ankara seeking replicable stress-management solutions.
