China Dominates 2025 Humanoid Robot Production, Surpasses U.S. Competitors

China solidified its position as the global leader in humanoid robotics last year, surpassing U.S. manufacturers in both shipments and market share, according to a report by London-based tech consultancy Omdia. The findings underscore the Chinese mainland's accelerating advancements in next-generation automation technologies critical to industrial and consumer markets.

Shanghai's AgiBot led the sector with 5,100 units shipped in 2025, capturing 39% of the global market. Hangzhou-based Unitree followed with 4,200 units, while Shenzhen's UBTECH shipped 1,000 units. AgiBot and UBTECH primarily serve commercial and industrial sectors, whereas Unitree's robots are utilized in research, education, and consumer applications.

Analysts note that China's robotics surge aligns with strategic investments in AI and smart manufacturing infrastructure. The achievement marks a significant milestone in global tech competition, with implications for supply chain dynamics and labor markets worldwide.
