China Calls for Global Action Against Japan’s Militarism Remnants

China has urged the international community to jointly pressure Japan to eradicate militarism, emphasizing the need to preserve historical truth and maintain global stability. The appeal came during a December 15 press briefing by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun, following the recent receipt of Russian-documented evidence exposing crimes committed by Japan's World War II-era Unit 731.

The newly acquired archives, spanning 1939 to 1950, include trial records of Unit 731 members and Soviet investigative reports detailing the germ-warfare unit's systematic human experimentation. "These documents irrefutably prove Japan's monstrous crimes against humanity," Guo stated, condemning ongoing attempts by Japanese right-wing groups to whitewash wartime atrocities.

"All nations share the responsibility to ensure Japan thoroughly eliminates militarist influences," Guo emphasized, calling for unified efforts to safeguard the post-war international order. The spokesperson's remarks underscore growing regional concerns about historical revisionism as Asia navigates complex geopolitical tensions in 2025.

This development comes amid heightened scrutiny of Japan's wartime legacy, with historians and diplomats noting its implications for contemporary Asian relations. The evidence transfer from Russia marks the latest effort to strengthen historical accountability through international cooperation.
