Malaysia to Resume MH370 Search in Late December 2025

Malaysia's Transport Ministry announced on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, that the search for Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 will recommence on December 30, marking a renewed effort to resolve one of aviation's most enduring mysteries. Exploration firm Ocean Infinity will lead the 55-day intermittent seabed operations, leveraging advanced underwater technology to scour previously uncharted areas of the southern Indian Ocean.

The ministry emphasized that the operation aligns with Malaysia's commitment to 'leaving no stone unturned' in locating the aircraft, which disappeared in March 2014 with 239 people aboard. This year's initiative follows prior unsuccessful searches and incorporates updated data analysis from international aviation experts.

Families of the victims have expressed cautious optimism about the renewed efforts, with many urging transparency throughout the process. The search window, spanning late December 2025 to early 2026, coincides with improved seasonal weather conditions in the region.
