Flood Death Toll Reaches 55 in Southern Thailand’s Songkhla Province

The death toll from catastrophic flooding in Thailand's Songkhla province has risen to 55, authorities confirmed on Thursday, November 27, 2025. Recovery teams continue to assess the damage as officials warn the number may increase in coming days.

Government spokesperson Siripong Angkasakulkiat revealed during a press briefing that Songklanagarind Hospital documented 85 total fatalities since the crisis began, with 55 directly linked to floodwaters. The remaining 30 deaths occurred during the disaster period but resulted from unrelated causes.

Torrential rains have submerged entire neighborhoods across southern Thailand since early November 2025, displacing thousands and damaging critical infrastructure. Emergency crews are working around the clock to restore essential services while evacuating residents from high-risk areas.

This disaster highlights growing climate challenges in Southeast Asia, with meteorologists noting this year's monsoon season has been particularly severe. Authorities urge international partners to monitor the situation as Thailand coordinates relief efforts.
