China, Kyrgyzstan Launch Strategic Dialogue to Boost Ties

First High-Level Talks Cement Regional Partnership

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Kyrgyz counterpart Jeenbek Kulubaev inaugurated a new strategic dialogue mechanism on Wednesday, marking a milestone in bilateral relations. The meeting in Bishkek comes as both nations seek to implement presidential consensus through enhanced coordination on regional security and economic initiatives.

Infrastructure & Global Initiatives Take Center Stage

Wang, representing the Communist Party of China Central Committee, emphasized the dialogue's role in advancing the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project – a key Belt and Road Initiative corridor. Kulubaev reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan's commitment to the one-China principle while outlining cooperation plans in mining, agriculture, and cultural exchanges through 2027.

Multilateral Coordination Intensifies

With Kyrgyzstan preparing to assume Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) leadership in 2026, both ministers pledged to strengthen collaboration within UN frameworks and China-Central Asia mechanisms. The signed joint statement establishes a roadmap for implementing four global development initiatives proposed by China.
