Global Ministers Convene in Istanbul to Address Gaza Ceasefire, Future Plans

Foreign ministers from seven countries gathered in Istanbul on Monday to coordinate efforts to sustain the Gaza ceasefire and outline a roadmap for the enclave’s reconstruction, amid reports of continued Israeli strikes despite the truce. Hosted by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, the meeting included representatives from the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Qatar, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan.

Fidan emphasized the group’s unified stance on preventing renewed violence, stating, “All participants agree that we do not want the atrocities in Gaza to resume.” The ministers endorsed a two-state solution as the foundation for lasting peace, while condemning alleged Israeli violations of the ceasefire and obstruction of humanitarian aid deliveries.

The discussions highlighted growing international pressure to stabilize Gaza and address humanitarian needs, though challenges remain in enforcing the truce. Analysts suggest the meeting reflects broader regional efforts to de-escalate tensions and foster multilateral cooperation.
