In a bid to strengthen international partnerships, China Media Group (CMG) co-hosted the Global Dialogue on Innovation, Openness, and Shared Development in Montevideo, Uruguay, alongside the Chinese Embassy. The event underscored China's commitment to fostering cross-border cooperation amid evolving global challenges.
Shen Haixiong, Vice Minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and CMG President, emphasized in a video address that "China's development cannot be achieved without the world, and the world's prosperity also needs China." He outlined CMG's vision to create open platforms for dialogue, particularly in media innovation and cultural exchange.
The dialogue highlighted Uruguay's strategic role as a bridge between China and Latin America, with participants discussing technology transfer, sustainable development, and multilateral trade frameworks. Chinese Ambassador to Uruguay Huang Yazhong noted the event's timing as "pivotal" for deepening South-South cooperation.
Analysts suggest such initiatives align with broader efforts to enhance China's global media footprint while addressing shared development goals. The forum concluded with pledges to expand collaborative projects in digital infrastructure and green energy solutions.
