Thai King Endorses Anutin Charnvirakul as New Prime Minister

Thailand's political landscape entered a new chapter as King Maha Vajiralongkorn formally endorsed Anutin Charnvirakul as prime minister on Sunday. The royal appointment ceremony at Bhumjaithai Party headquarters followed Anutin's parliamentary victory, where he secured majority support during Friday's vote.

In his inaugural address, the 58-year-old leader pledged to address Thailand's pressing challenges with urgency, stating: "My government will work tirelessly to overcome current crises while respecting constitutional mechanisms." He emphasized plans to prioritize transparency, judicial independence, and constitutional reforms through legal processes.

The new prime minister outlined plans to dissolve parliament within four months of taking office, creating a transitional roadmap for future governance. Anutin's extensive political experience – including previous roles as deputy prime minister and public health minister – positions him as a seasoned operator during this critical period.

With royal approval secured, attention now turns to cabinet appointments and the administration's policy agenda. Political analysts suggest the transition could bring short-term stability while constitutional amendment debates intensify.
