Minneapolis School Shooting Leaves Two Children Dead, 17 Injured

A tragic shooting unfolded Wednesday morning at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, Minnesota, claiming the lives of two children aged 8 and 10 and injuring 17 others, according to local authorities. The incident has reignited debates on gun violence and school safety in the U.S.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara confirmed the shooter, a man in his 20s with no significant criminal history, was armed with a rifle, shotgun, and pistol. He died by suicide near the church adjacent to the school, which serves students from kindergarten through eighth grade. Fourteen of the injured are children, two of whom remain in critical condition.

The community has rallied to support grieving families, while national attention turns to recurring challenges in preventing such attacks.
