Baltimore Mass Shooting Leaves Six Injured, Including 5-Year-Old Girl

Six people, including a 5-year-old girl, were wounded in a mass shooting in Baltimore on Saturday evening, authorities confirmed. The incident occurred near Spaulding and Queensberry Avenues as residents gathered outdoors for a meal, according to Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley.

Gunfire erupted shortly before 8:50 p.m. local time, disrupting what witnesses described as a casual neighborhood gathering. "Somebody just opened fire," Worley stated during a press briefing, noting the victims were eating crabs outdoors when the attack occurred.

One male victim remains in critical condition following emergency surgery. Police have not identified suspects or disclosed a potential motive, with Worley emphasizing that "multiple rounds were fired" but details remain scarce. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and appealing for witnesses.

The shooting marks Baltimore's latest episode of gun violence amid ongoing national debates about public safety. Local leaders have called for community cooperation to address systemic challenges.
