U.S. Resumes Key Weapons Shipments to Ukraine Amid Escalating Conflict

The United States has resumed deliveries of 155mm artillery shells and mobile rocket artillery missiles to Ukraine, according to unnamed U.S. officials. This follows a brief pause in critical weapons shipments last week, reportedly due to concerns over dwindling U.S. military stockpiles.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed expanded efforts to secure air defense systems, while Russia launched a record 728 drones overnight—marking one of the largest aerial assaults since its 2022 invasion. Kyiv has repeatedly emphasized the urgent need for advanced air defense technology to counter such attacks.

While the latest shipment excludes Patriot missiles and other paused items, U.S. officials stated discussions about potential Patriot transfers remain ongoing. The paused package included 30 Patriot missiles, 8,500 artillery shells, and over 250 precision-guided rockets.

Zelenskyy urged stricter global sanctions targeting Russia’s oil revenue streams, calling it vital to 'limit the financing of terror' during a Telegram address. Analysts suggest the resumed shipments reflect balancing acts between supporting Ukraine and managing domestic military readiness.
