The 2025 BRICS Seminar on Governance and Cultural Exchanges Forum convened in Rio de Janeiro this week, uniting over 120 delegates from BRICS nations and international organizations to address strategies for fostering stability in an era of geopolitical and economic flux. Representatives from China, Brazil, Russia, India, South Africa, Egypt, and Indonesia emphasized the bloc’s growing influence following its historic expansion, now termed “Big BRICS cooperation.”
Discussions centered on China’s leadership in advancing multilateral initiatives, with participants acknowledging its role in bridging development gaps and strengthening solidarity among Global South countries. The forum also spotlighted cultural diplomacy through a photo exhibition and released two reports detailing BRICS’ collaborative frameworks.
Jointly organized by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, China International Communications Group, and Brazil’s National Institute of Geography and Statistics, the event underscored the bloc’s evolving capacity to shape global governance models.
