Israeli Military Probes Alleged Live Fire at Gaza Aid Hubs

Israel's Military Advocate General has launched an internal investigation following soldiers' testimonies published by Haaretz alleging orders to use live fire against Palestinians near food distribution points in Gaza. The testimonies claim commanders authorized such measures to "clear the approaches," even when crowds were unarmed and non-threatening.

According to the report, these directives originated at the brigade level and were reportedly repeated in at least 19 incidents over the past month. The UN has documented over 410 fatalities since late May among individuals attempting to access four Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) aid sites. However, the GHF's executive director disputed these figures in a Sky News interview, calling them "disinformation."

Broader conflict statistics compiled by Reuters and the UN indicate more than 56,000 Palestinian and 1,706 Israeli fatalities since hostilities escalated. The investigation's findings could influence international responses to the humanitarian crisis, with observers urging accountability and transparency.
