21 Nations Condemn Israeli Strikes on Iran, Urge De-Escalation

Twenty-one Arab and Muslim nations issued a rare unified statement on Monday condemning Israel's recent airstrikes on Iranian territory, calling the attacks a violation of international law and demanding immediate de-escalation. The joint declaration, coordinated by Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, marks one of the broadest regional responses to the ongoing tensions.

The coalition includes Türkiye, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, and 17 other states spanning Africa to the Gulf. Foreign ministers emphasized the "critical need to respect national sovereignty" and warned that further hostilities could destabilize the entire region. Their statement specifically referenced Article 2(4) of the UN Charter prohibiting territorial violations.

Analysts note the participation of both Sunni-majority states and Shia-influenced governments signals growing alarm over potential spillover effects. The group urged all parties to pursue dialogue through "established diplomatic channels" and implement confidence-building measures.

This development comes as global energy markets show volatility amid concerns about Strait of Hormuz security. Business leaders are closely monitoring whether the condemnation will translate into coordinated economic or political pressure to prevent broader conflict.
