Bridge Collapse and Train Derailment in Russia’s Bryansk Kill 7

At least seven people died and 30 others were hospitalized after a catastrophic bridge collapse caused a freight train derailment in Russia's Bryansk Region early Sunday. Russian Railways attributed the disaster to "illegal interference," marking one of the country's deadliest transport incidents this year.

The collapse occurred when a span structure on a road bridge gave way, sending the train's locomotive and multiple cars off the tracks. Emergency crews worked through the night to extract survivors near the Ukraine border region, with two children among the injured. Governor Alexander Bogomaz confirmed one child remains in critical condition.

While authorities have not specified the nature of the alleged interference, the incident highlights growing concerns about infrastructure security across Eurasia. The Bryansk Region has previously reported sabotage attempts amid ongoing regional tensions.

This development comes as global investors monitor stability in key transport corridors connecting Asia and Europe. Analysts suggest such events could impact regional supply chains and energy shipments.
