Aid Trucks Enter Gaza Amid Distribution Challenges, UN Reports Delays

Israeli authorities permitted 98 humanitarian aid trucks carrying flour, baby food, and medical supplies to enter the Gaza Strip this week, marking the first major delivery since a near-total blockade began 11 weeks ago. However, United Nations officials confirmed Thursday that logistical hurdles have prevented these critical supplies from reaching civilians, hospitals, and bakeries.

The Israeli military stated the trucks crossed into Gaza on Monday and Tuesday, but World Food Program Country Director Antoine Renard emphasized: "None of this aid – a very limited number of trucks – has reached the Gaza population." Local bakeries prepared to resume bread production remain idle, while hospitals report worsening shortages of basic medical equipment.

This development comes as international pressure mounts on Israel to address Gaza's deepening humanitarian crisis. Analysts note the current delivery represents less than 20% of pre-blockade aid levels, with distribution networks crippled by fuel shortages and damaged infrastructure.
