India Reports Pakistan Troop Buildup Amid Border Tensions

The Indian military stated on Saturday that Pakistan has intensified troop deployments along their shared border, escalating tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbors. This development follows Pakistan's announcement of launching a military operation targeting Indian bases, including a missile storage site.

An Indian military spokesperson reported observing Pakistani troop movements into forward areas, which they described as "indicating offensive intent." The spokesperson emphasized India’s readiness to respond, stating, "Indian armed forces remain in a high state of operational readiness," but reaffirmed New Delhi’s commitment to non-escalation "provided it is reciprocated by the Pakistan military."

Earlier on Saturday, Pakistan claimed it conducted retaliatory strikes after alleging Indian missile attacks on three of its airbases. Pakistani authorities said most missiles were intercepted by air defenses near Islamabad. The exchange of accusations marks one of the most volatile phases in recent years, with global observers urging restraint.

The situation remains fluid, with regional stability hanging in the balance. Analysts warn that further escalations could disrupt trade routes and energy supplies critical to Asian economies. For travelers, governments in neighboring countries have issued advisories to avoid border regions until tensions subside.
