Four individuals lost their lives and two others suffered cardiac arrests following a devastating fire at a construction site in Busan, South Korea's southeastern port city, on Friday.
The incident occurred around 10:51 a.m. local time (0151 GMT) at a hotel construction site located approximately 325 kilometers southeast of the capital, Seoul. Emergency responders were swiftly dispatched to the scene.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire originated from insulation materials stored near a swimming pool on the first floor of the building under construction. The swift spread of the flames led to the tragic loss of lives and the critical condition of two additional individuals.
Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire and assess any potential safety protocol breaches at the construction site.
