Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Thursday that he has not yet met with Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad since Assad’s arrival in Moscow but confirmed plans for an upcoming meeting.
“I haven’t yet seen President Assad since his arrival in Moscow, but I plan to. I will definitely speak with him,” Putin told a U.S. journalist during his annual press conference.
The anticipated discussions between the two leaders are expected to focus on developments in Syria and the broader Middle East region, emphasizing the ongoing collaboration between Russia and Syria.
