Kremlin Confirms Putin Not Invited to Trump’s Inauguration

The Kremlin has officially confirmed that Russian President Vladimir Putin has not received an invitation to attend U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov addressed the media on Thursday, stating that no invitation had been extended to President Putin.

“We are not expecting any invitation,” Peskov remarked, emphasizing that it is not customary for foreign leaders to attend U.S. presidential inaugurations. “The inauguration is an internal affair of the United States, and traditionally, foreign leaders do not participate in such events.”

The announcement comes amid global interest in the future of Russia-U.S. relations under the incoming Trump administration. Speculations about a possible shift in diplomatic ties have been a topic of discussion among international observers and policymakers.

President-elect Trump has previously expressed a willingness to improve relations with Russia, calling for collaboration on various global issues. However, the absence of an invitation to the inauguration suggests that any potential changes in bilateral relations will unfold after the new administration takes office.

Analysts note that the initial interactions between President Putin and President-elect Trump could set the tone for the future of Russia-U.S. diplomacy. Many will be watching closely to see how both leaders navigate the complexities of international politics in the coming months.
