Iran Vows Retaliation After Israeli Strikes Amid Rising Middle East Tensions

In the wake of recent Israeli airstrikes that claimed the lives of at least four Iranian soldiers, Iran has vowed to defend itself, heightening fears of a full-scale war in the Middle East.

The International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed that no nuclear sites in Iran were hit during the pre-dawn strikes. Israel has warned that Iran would “pay a heavy price” if it responds to the attacks. Meanwhile, the United States, Germany, and Britain have urged Tehran to refrain from escalating the conflict further.

U.S. President Joe Biden expressed hope for de-escalation, stating, “This is the end, it looks like they didn’t hit anything other than military targets.” The European Union has called for all parties to exercise “utmost restraint” to avoid an uncontrollable escalation.

Neighboring countries and regional powers have condemned the Israeli strikes, urging both sides to show restraint. Amid the rising tensions, Iran maintains that it has the “right and the duty” to defend itself.

“While reserving its legal and legitimate right to respond at the appropriate moment, Iran is prioritizing the establishment of a lasting ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon,” stated the Iranian Armed Forces General Staff.

As the international community watches closely, there is growing concern over the potential implications for regional stability and global security.
