Drone from Lebanon Targets Israeli PM Netanyahu’s Residence in Caesarea

On Saturday, a drone launched from Lebanon targeted the residence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Caesarea, as reported by the Prime Minister’s Office. The incident unfolded after Israeli military sources indicated that a drone from Lebanon had “hit a structure” in the central Israeli town.

“A UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) was launched toward the prime minister’s residence in Caesarea. The prime minister and his wife were not at the location, and there were no injuries in the incident,” the Prime Minister’s Office stated. The assurance came amid rising concerns over security breaches targeting high-profile figures.

Earlier in the day, the Israeli military reported that the drone was launched from Lebanon and that two additional drones crossing into Israeli territory were intercepted. Details on the interceptions and the drones’ origins are yet to be fully disclosed.

Following reports of explosions heard in Caesarea, police and emergency services responded promptly. The Israeli ambulance service confirmed there were no casualties resulting from the incident. Caesarea, home to Prime Minister Netanyahu’s holiday residence, is typically a tranquil coastal town, making the incident particularly unsettling for residents.

The event underscores ongoing tensions and highlights the challenges faced in securing national leaders and sensitive locations. Investigations are underway to determine the exact circumstances and to prevent future occurrences.
