DPRK Blows Up Parts of Inter-Korean Roads, Says ROK Military

The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) has reportedly destroyed sections of inter-Korean roads on its side of the border, according to the Republic of Korea’s (ROK) Joint Chiefs of Staff on Tuesday.

“The DPRK has detonated parts of the Gyeongui and Donghae roads north of the Military Demarcation Line,” the Joint Chiefs of Staff stated, noting that the ROK has heightened its military readiness in response.

In response to these developments, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson called on all parties to work together to uphold peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.

Addressing the media at a press briefing, spokesperson Mao Ning said, “China is closely monitoring developments on the Korean Peninsula and the dynamics of inter-Korean relations.”

Mao emphasized that the current tensions do not serve the common interests of any party, highlighting that the immediate priority is to prevent further escalation of conflicts. “China’s stance on upholding peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and advancing the political settlement process of the Korean Peninsula issue remains unchanged,” she affirmed.
