According to an official statement released by the Nicaraguan government, the decision comes in response to what it described as \"genocide, atrocity, and extreme hatred\" committed by the \"fascist and war criminal government of Israel\" against the Palestinian people.
\"Nicaragua stands unwaveringly with the Palestinian people in their pursuit of freedom and justice,\" the statement declared. \"We cannot condone actions that violate international law and human rights.\"
The government reiterated its demand for Israel to abide by all relevant United Nations resolutions and to promote the establishment of a \"free, sovereign, independent, and self-determined Palestinian State.\"
This move underscores Nicaragua's commitment to supporting Palestine and adds pressure on the international community to address the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
