China’s Ocean Geology 2 Concludes Landmark Deep-Sea Expedition

China's cutting-edge research vessel Ocean Geology 2 has completed its 33rd deep-sea expedition, marking a significant milestone in marine scientific exploration. During the 30-day mission, a team of 100 researchers utilized the domestically developed Haima remotely operated vehicle (ROV) to conduct precision operations at extreme depths.

The expedition achieved breakthroughs in deploying monitoring equipment for geological disaster research and collected critical data supporting resource exploration. Scientists successfully tested a revolutionary 10,000-meter ultra-clean seawater sampling system, overcoming technical challenges in preserving sample integrity at crushing ocean pressures.

This mission advances China's capabilities in understanding deep-sea ecosystems and mineral resources while improving early warning systems for underwater geological hazards. The successful deployment of homegrown technology like the Haima ROV demonstrates progress in China's marine research infrastructure development.
