Beijing's Yizhuang District has become home to a groundbreaking senior care facility featuring 40 intelligent robots designed to assist with daily activities. The newly operational Smart Wellness Center represents China's latest innovation in addressing its aging population, combining AI-powered companions with IoT-enabled health monitoring systems.
"This integration of robotics and elder care demonstrates our commitment to technological solutions for social challenges," said a Beijing Municipal Health Commission representative. Residents can access medication reminders, mobility assistance, and cognitive stimulation programs through humanoid robots equipped with emotion recognition capabilities.
The facility's launch comes as China's National Bureau of Statistics reports 28% of the population will be over 60 by 2030. Analysts suggest this model could set standards for other Asian nations facing similar demographic shifts. Plans are underway to establish 15 similar centers across the Chinese mainland by late 2027.
