Performing the Mandarin ballad Ru Yuan (Wishes Come True) alongside local youth choirs, their 2026 China tour exemplifies music's power to transcend borders.
Since arriving in early March, the choir has performed in Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou – their clear Mandarin pronunciation and emotional delivery earning standing ovations. "We spent months studying the song's poetic lyrics about hope and unity," said choir director Anna Weber. "Music lets us speak directly to hearts, bypassing language barriers."
The tour aligns with China's Global Civilization Initiative promoting cross-cultural dialogue. Joint performances with Chinese choirs feature innovative fusions of European choral techniques with traditional Chinese instruments like the guzheng zither.
