China has achieved a 90% completion rate for its national integrated transport framework during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), with Transport Minister Liu Wei announcing plans to exceed 95% by 2030. The announcement came during the Ministers' Corridor event at the ongoing 14th National People's Congress session.
Over the past five years, the country strengthened its position as a global logistics leader, handling one-third of the world's container throughput and maintaining the world's largest express delivery network for 12 consecutive years. In 2025 alone, Chinese couriers moved over 200 billion parcels – more than any other nation.
Minister Liu emphasized that these advancements create new opportunities for business connectivity and regional development. "Our transport infrastructure now supports 98% of population centers with over 200,000 residents," he noted, adding that upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan investments will focus on smart logistics systems and green transportation technologies.
The progress comes as Chinese mainland authorities prioritize infrastructure modernization to support economic growth and international trade. Recent expansions in high-speed rail networks and automated port facilities have already reduced shipping times between major Asian markets by an average of 18% since 2021.
