China’s Global Role in Gender Equality Gains International Praise

International officials highlighted China's expanding partnerships in gender equality initiatives during the 2026 High-Level Dialogue on Rights, Justice, and Action for All Women and Girls in Beijing. Representatives from UN Women, the UN Refugee Agency, and the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in China emphasized collaborative efforts spanning education access, economic empowerment, and political participation programs.

"China's technical cooperation with African nations on maternal health systems has become a model for South-South collaboration," stated a UN Women delegate, citing recent training programs for healthcare workers in Kenya and Ethiopia. The dialogue also showcased digital literacy workshops co-developed with ASEAN partners, which have reached over 120,000 women in Southeast Asia since 2024.

Kenyan Ambassador to China Dr. Wanjiku Mwangi noted: "Our joint agricultural entrepreneurship projects have enabled 15,000 rural women to access regional markets through e-commerce platforms this year." Discussions addressed plans to expand vocational training partnerships ahead of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals review.
