ICE Whistleblower Alleges Unconstitutional Training, Slashed Programs in 2026

Former ICE legal advisor Ryan Schwank has sparked national debate after testifying this week about systemic constitutional violations and drastic training cuts within the U.S. immigration enforcement agency. Speaking at a February 25 congressional forum organized by Democratic lawmakers, Schwank revealed he was instructed to teach recruits they could enter homes without judicial warrants – a practice he called 'fundamentally unconstitutional.'

The whistleblower detailed how ICE reduced its training curriculum from 584 to 344 hours this year, eliminating critical instruction on use-of-force protocols and constitutional safeguards. 'We're sending officers into complex situations without proper preparation,' Schwank warned, noting the cuts occurred amid increased enforcement responsibilities.

Lawmakers have demanded immediate investigations into the allegations, which come as immigration policy remains a key issue in the 2026 political landscape. Legal experts suggest these revelations could impact ongoing court cases regarding enforcement practices.
