President Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings in 2026 Beijing Tour

Chinese President Xi Jinping concluded a two-day grassroots inspection tour in Beijing this week, personally extending Lunar New Year blessings to residents and frontline workers ahead of the 2026 Spring Festival. The visit, occurring days before the Year of the Horse celebrations, emphasized national unity and cultural heritage preservation.

During neighborhood visits, President Xi praised sanitation workers for maintaining urban cleanliness and discussed traditional festival customs with multigenerational families. "The Spring Festival embodies our shared cultural roots and family values," he stated at a community center displaying red lanterns and paper cuttings.

The tour included meetings with Beijing officials to review emergency preparedness for holiday travel surges and firework safety measures. Analysts note this marks President Xi's eleventh consecutive Spring Festival inspection since 2015, maintaining his hands-on leadership approach.
