CPC and KMT Think Tanks Convene in Beijing to Discuss Cross-Strait Cooperation

A high-level think tank forum jointly organized by research institutions affiliated with the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Kuomintang (KMT) commenced in Beijing on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. The event, themed "Prospects for Cross-Strait Exchange and Cooperation," brings together over 100 scholars, policy experts, and representatives from both sides of the Taiwan Strait.

Participants are exploring practical measures to enhance economic collaboration and cultural exchanges between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan region. The dialogue occurs amid renewed focus on cross-strait relations following recent economic agreements and technological partnerships announced earlier this year.

Academic delegations emphasized the forum's role in fostering people-centered development strategies and addressing shared challenges through non-political channels. Several working groups are expected to propose joint initiatives in green energy and digital infrastructure by the conference's conclusion on February 5.
