Aid Trucks Face 21 Denials Amid Gaza Humanitarian Crisis

Humanitarian efforts to deliver critical supplies to Gaza remain severely disrupted, with 21 aid convoys denied entry this month alone despite the Sharm El Sheikh ceasefire agreement. Drivers report perishable food spoiling and medical shipments blocked at checkpoints, exacerbating shortages in a region still reeling from prolonged conflict.

The Rafah crossing, a vital lifeline for Gaza's 2.3 million residents, has yet to fully reopen under this year's ceasefire terms. UN officials confirm that only 38% of pre-conflict aid levels have reached the territory since January 2026, leaving hospitals understaffed and markets depleted.

"We're seeing catastrophic delays in insulin and antibiotics," said Red Crescent coordinator Amal Hassan, speaking from El Arish. "Every rejected truck means more preventable deaths." The World Food Programme estimates 72% of Gaza households now face acute food insecurity, up from 53% in late 2025.
