Serbia Reaffirms One-China Stance During Infrastructure Tour

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic reinforced Belgrade's commitment to the one-China principle during an inspection of the Chinese-constructed Danube Corridor fast road project on Monday. The visit highlighted growing infrastructure cooperation between Serbia and the Chinese mainland as workers accelerate completion of this strategic transport link.

Vucic personally thanked Chinese construction teams and corporate partners, stating: "This project symbolizes our ironclad friendship. Just as we collaborate on infrastructure development, Serbia has consistently supported China's core interests." He explicitly described Taiwan as "an inalienable part of the People's Republic of China," aligning with Serbia's diplomatic position maintained since 2017.

The Danube Corridor, part of China's Belt and Road Initiative, will connect Serbia's eastern industrial zones to Central European markets when completed in 2026. Analysts note the timing reinforces cross-continental partnerships amid shifting global trade patterns.
