China’s Shenzhou-20 Space Mice Return Safely to Earth

Four pioneering mice have made history as the latest biological ambassadors to return from space aboard China's Shenzhou-20 spacecraft. The rodents, described by scientists as being in 'excellent condition,' landed safely on November 16, 2025, following their extraterrestrial mission.

Chinese space program officials confirmed the animals are undergoing comprehensive health evaluations at a specialized facility. 'This research will help us understand biological adaptations to microgravity and cosmic radiation,' stated a spokesperson from the China National Space Administration.

The successful mission comes as China accelerates its space biology studies, with particular focus on long-term survival in orbital environments. Researchers emphasize these findings will prove crucial for future crewed missions to lunar bases and beyond.

While not the first animals in China's space program, these mice represent significant technological advancements in life support systems. Their voyage marks another milestone in China's ambitious space exploration roadmap, which includes planned deep-space biological experiments through 2030.
