China Urges Global Unity to Protect Women in Conflict Zones

China's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Fu Cong, has called for enhanced international solidarity to safeguard women's safety during armed conflicts. Speaking at a Security Council meeting on Monday, Fu emphasized the urgent need for coordinated action to advance women's development and security worldwide.

"The Security Council must strengthen unity and cooperation to effectively promote ceasefires," Fu stated, highlighting how conflict disproportionately impacts women through displacement, violence, and limited access to essential services. He urged member states to "create more favorable conditions" for protecting women's rights through humanitarian assistance and post-conflict reconstruction efforts.

The remarks come as global instability continues to threaten gender equality progress. Analysts note China's growing role in advocating for women's security aligns with its increased participation in UN peacekeeping operations and development initiatives across Asia and Africa.

Fu also outlined China's domestic achievements in gender equality, including improved healthcare access and economic participation rates for women. His address reinforced Beijing's position that women's safety forms a critical component of sustainable development – a key focus for Asian markets seeking stable growth environments.
