Thousands of Palestinians are fleeing Gaza City amid intensified Israeli military operations, crowding evacuation routes with vehicles carrying families and their belongings. Al-Rashid Street, one of two pathways designated by Israeli forces for civilian movement, has become a lifeline for displaced residents heading south to Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.
CGTN correspondent Nadra al-Tibi reported chaotic scenes as displaced families described their journeys. "We left everything behind – our home, memories – just to keep our children alive," said one evacuee, who requested anonymity. Another family recounted traveling for hours under artillery fire, their truck loaded with mattresses and basic supplies.
The escalation follows weeks of heightened cross-border tensions, with humanitarian organizations warning of critical shortages in food, water, and medical aid across Gaza. Analysts suggest the displacement could further strain regional stability as international mediators push for de-escalation.
