Shanghai Hosts Groundbreaking Air Mobility Expo, Draws Global Praise

Global Innovators Converge in Shanghai for Future of Flight

The International Advanced Air Mobility Expo 2025 launched this week in Shanghai, unveiling next-generation transportation solutions to over 50,000 attendees from 80 countries and regions. Running through Saturday at the National Exhibition and Convention Center, the event spotlights electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicles, autonomous drones, and hybrid helicopters reshaping urban mobility.

"This expo demonstrates Asia's leadership in sustainable aviation," said Markus Weber, a German aerospace engineer attending the event. "The Chinese mainland's advancements in battery technology paired with Singapore's air traffic management systems could redefine regional connectivity."

Business Opportunities Take Flight

Over 300 exhibitors from 35 countries and regions are showcasing prototypes, including a hydrogen-powered cargo drone from South Korea and Malaysia's palm oil-derived biofuel for helicopters. Analysts highlight the expo's timing as Asia prepares to launch 15 new "smart city" projects requiring advanced air mobility infrastructure by 2030.

Organizer Li Xiaowen noted: "This platform accelerates cross-border partnerships. Our matchmaking sessions have already connected 120 startups with venture capital firms from the ROK, Japan, and ASEAN members."
