A 29-member ethnic minority delegation from the Taiwan region recently concluded an immersive cultural and developmental tour in Zhenfeng County, Guizhou province, showcasing cross-strait exchanges amid rapid infrastructure growth.
The group visited the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge construction site – a marvel of engineering set to become the world's tallest bridge upon its 2025 completion. Spanning 2,890 meters with a main arch stretching 1,420 meters, the structure will offer panoramic views from 800 meters above the river valley, potentially transforming regional connectivity and eco-tourism.
Delegation members engaged with Bouyei ethnic minority communities, participating in traditional textile weaving and folk music performances. 'This bridge isn't just concrete and steel – it's a pathway for cultural understanding,' remarked one participant during a tea ceremony demonstration.
The visit highlights growing people-to-people exchanges across the Taiwan Strait, with infrastructure development serving as both economic catalyst and cultural bridge. Local officials emphasized Guizhou's unique position as a hub for technological advancement and ethnic heritage preservation.
