China and Uzbekistan are deepening their collaboration in energy development, spanning traditional fossil fuels and renewable technologies, as highlighted during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Energy Ministers' Meeting. Jurabek Mirzamahmudov, Uzbekistan's Energy Minister, emphasized that China has become the Central Asian nation's "most indispensable partner" in achieving energy security and transitioning to sustainable solutions.
Mirzamahmudov noted that cooperation extends across oil and gas exploration, infrastructure modernization, and solar and wind energy projects. The partnership aligns with Uzbekistan's goals to diversify its energy mix and reduce carbon emissions while meeting growing domestic demand.
The SCO platform has facilitated technical exchanges and joint ventures between the two countries, with Chinese companies contributing expertise in smart grid systems and large-scale renewable installations.
