China-CEEC Expo Boosts Regional Trade, Cultural Ties in Ningbo

The 4th China-Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) Expo in Ningbo has emerged as a vibrant platform for economic collaboration and cultural dialogue, drawing participation from 14 CEE nations and nine additional partner countries. Over 500 exhibitors are showcasing agricultural products, smart manufacturing solutions, and traditional crafts, reflecting the growing diversity of cross-regional exchanges.

Balázs Beregi, anchor of Hungarian state broadcaster MTVA, emphasized the event's strategic importance: "This expo bridges markets and minds. While boosting trade in sectors like green energy and digital infrastructure, it also fosters people-to-people connections through food festivals and art exhibitions."

Economic analysts note that China-CEEC trade volume has grown 8.2% year-on-year through Q1 2024, with Central European dairy products and automotive components gaining popularity in the Chinese mainland. Meanwhile, Chinese solar panel manufacturers are exploring joint ventures with Czech and Serbian partners.

The "CEE-plus" format, extending participation to nations like Greece and Uzbekistan, signals Beijing's commitment to inclusive regional cooperation. Cultural programming includes folk music performances and a photography exhibition tracing the ancient Silk Road's modern revival.

As the three-day event concludes Friday, business matching sessions have already yielded 23 signed memorandums across renewable energy and logistics sectors, setting the stage for enhanced China-Europe connectivity under the Belt and Road framework.
